- פָּקַסI (cmp. preced.) to tear open, open forcibly. Sabb.155b (expl. חַמְרָאָה) מרביצה ופוֹקֵס את פיהוכ׳ (Ms. M. ופיקק) he makes the animal lie down, and opens its mouth wide, and makes it swallow ; Tosef. ib. XVIII, 2 ופוקס את צוארו.
